Wind Farms at Spaldington – The Facts

There are TWO wind farms proposed for Spaldington –
Spaldington Common Wind Farm to the east with 7 turbines, each 126.5m (415 feet) tall AND Spaldington Airfield Wind Farm to the west with 5 turbines up to 126m (413 feet) tall – these are larger than any yet built in this country. The turbines would be over THREE times the height of Howden Minster (see diagram below) 53 houses would be within 1000m (1094 yards) of at least one turbine - 21 to the Common, 32 to the Airfield and 14 to both – hence very likely to be affected by noise, vibration, electronic interference and shadow flicker
10 properties would be within 600m (656 yards) of at least one Spaldington Common turbine – this is closer than at any wind farm so far built in the East Riding of Yorkshire
Many houses in the neighbouring villages of North Howden, Brind, Willitoft, Gribthorpe, Arglam, Bursea, Welham Bridge, Portington and Eastrington would be within 1 - 2 km (5/8 - 1¼ miles) of at least one turbine, close enough to be affected by the noise

Pay Now or Pay Later?:

A fund has been set up to help finance the fight against these turbines and pay our experts’ fees. Funding is CRUCIAL if we are to put a STOP to this unwanted destruction of our countryside. Every donation WILL help.

Please contact STOP to make a donation or if you have any ideas for fundraising events and activities.
